Opening Reception: The Search
Saturday, July 6 at 6-8 pm, Flood Plain, 3151 Cherokee
Artists Yvonne Osei, Edo Rosenblith and Steph Zimmerman - winners of the 2018 Creative Stimulus Award - work in extremely different methods and media. Yet all three artists source informational and material communication from others, whether it’s asking peer artists to construct a self-portrait, repurposing the discards of anonymous litterers or wandering the streets of colonizing cities in search of the “Discoverer.” The works of Osei, Rosenblith and Zimmerman have disparate motivations and resulting aesthetics but a similar spirit of searching. The search for self, purpose and untold histories. Facebook Invite
